On June 3-4, 2008, the StorHy Final Event took place in Paris / Poissy and was hosted by partner PSA Peugeot Citroën.
The Consortium presented the results and achievements of the project and gathered external experts to discuss the future perspectives and R&D needs for automotive hydrogen storage in three technical workshops. Experts included the European Commission, the Fuel Cell & Hydrogen JTI, industry representatives from e.g. Air Liquide, BMW, Daimler, Ford, MAGNA STEYR, PSA, Toyota and several prominent public research centers in Europe.
Moreover, a technical exhibition showed the main achievements of StorHy, such as hydrogen storage components, storage systems, advanced production and recycling concepts, and outlined their application in different hydrogen vehicle concepts.
To disseminate the project results to a wider public, an international press conference was organized and press releases were issued by several project partners.
As an inofficial highlight, a sponsored dinner on the Eiffel tower gave all participants the opportunity to further exchange views in a unique and pleasant atmosphere.
In total, approx. 140 participants, nearly half of them project external experts, took part, which reflects the attractiveness of the issue of hydrogen storage in general and the StorHy project results in particular. The Event received very good feedback from the partcipants, especially since it showed the future direction hydrogen storage should take. Press coverage was also better than expected, given the rather technical focus.
